A cellar worthy of the ingredients

Great wines to pair with the best market seafood

At Ogrelo we look after the wine cellar with the same care as the seafood: more than 200 references selected to go with the Galician cooking and fish-market produce we serve every day. This isn’t an ordinary wine list — there are big names from Ribera del Duero and Rioja, Albariño and Mencía from our own Galician land, Priorat, Toro, Catalan cava, Hungarian dessert wine and a champagne selection built for special occasions.

Recognised beyond our own tables too: Ogrelo has its own entry in the Michelin Guide and the Repsol Guide, two of Spain’s leading restaurant guides.

Reds

Ribera del Duero: the big names of the appellation

It’s the appellation with the strongest presence in our cellar: more than 60 Ribera del Duero references, with labels from Vega Sicilia (Único, Alión, Valbuena), Dominio de Pingus (Pingus 2020, €1,795), Dominio de Es, Dominio del Águila and Pago de Carraovejas, among others. The Vega Sicilia Reserva Especial 1976 Magnum, at €4,500, is the most sought-after bottle on the entire list.

Reds

Rioja: Artadi, Allende, Contador and the appellation’s leading wineries

Rioja is the second most present appellation in our cellar, with close to 50 references. Highlights include Artadi’s Pisón (up to €750), Allende’s Calvario, Contador’s Predicador and Carmen Gran Reserva, Sierra Cantabria’s San Vicente, and Vega Sicilia’s Macán, its project in the appellation. There’s also room for classic names like Muga, Marqués de Murrieta and Rioja Alta’s 904.

Reds

Priorat, Toro, Bierzo and the reds of our own Galician land

Beyond Ribera del Duero and Rioja, the cellar holds bottles from other leading appellations: Álvaro Palacios’ L’Ermita 2019 from Priorat, rated 100 points by Parker; Teso La Monja 2018 in magnum, from Toro; and Pétalos and Moncerbal from Descendientes de J. Palacios, in Bierzo. There are also Galician reds from our own land: Dominio de Bibei and Raúl Pérez’s Mencía from Ribeira Sacra, and Adega do Vimbio’s Caíño Tinto, from Rías Baixas.

Galician whites

Albariño from Rías Baixas, seafood’s natural pairing

As a Galician seafood restaurant, Albariño from Rías Baixas has a place of its own in our cellar: it’s the classic pairing for the fish-market seafood and fish we serve every day. We carry references from producers such as Raúl Pérez, Eulogio Pomares and Pazo de Barrantes, with prices up to €295.

Cava

Catalan cava for the aperitif and the toast

To start the meal or for a toast, the list includes Catalan cava from Gramona (Imperial Gran Reserva, 3Lustros and Argent), Juvé & Camps, At Roca and Sabaté I Coca, with prices from €23.50.

Dessert wine

Hungarian Tokaji, from the Vega Sicilia winery

For dessert, the cellar includes Tokaji Oremus from Hungary — Vega Sicilia’s project in the country — with Aszú vintages of 3, 5 and 6 Puttonyos and a Late Harvest, priced from €40 to €150.

Champagne

A champagne selection for special occasions

Ogrelo’s wine cellar also includes champagne from leading houses: Dom Pérignon, Salon Le Mesnil (with magnums reaching €3,750), Louis Roederer Cristal (2008 vintage, €950) and Bérêché & Fils (Reflet d’Antan in magnum, €1,795), among other references.
